Equality Human Rights

Introduction

Welcome to the Equality and Human Rights Commission’s procurement portal.  The Commission is the independent regulator for equality, human rights and good relations in Britain. We are a ‘Non Departmental Public Body’ sponsored by the Government Equalities Office (GEO).  We are committed to awarding business through competition to achieve good value for money and keep the process fair. We are required to comply with European Union procurement directives as well as central Government policy and UK law.

Our procurement portal gives suppliers access - in real time - to the contract opportunities that exist with the Equality and Human Rights Commission as well as to BiP’s electronic system that manages the procurement process. At the same time suppliers can benefit from procurement information and guidance relevant to public sector tendering.

Background to the system

The European Commission recommends, in its Consolidated Procurement Directive, that public authorities provide their purchasing and procurement information via a Buyer Profile. This portal incorporates that facility. The Equality and Human Rights buyer profile provides information on our purchase plans; future, current and past contracts; and relevant contact details.  By publishing this information through our portal we offer suppliers the opportunity to identify future opportunities, respond to current opportunities and to view which suppliers have already been awarded which contracts.
